Henrik Fisker dreams up a new type of luxury eco-barge

Automotive designer and entrepreneur Henrik Fisker has added a new string to his bow by designing a new 50-metre superyacht in collaboration with Italian boat-builder Benetti…

Penned by the Danish designer at his studio in California, the new 50-metre (164-foot) superyacht will be engineered and built in Livorno on one of Benetti’s established platforms. Ever the forward-thinker, Fisker employed a number of lightweight materials and eco-friendly measures during the design process, including lightweight carbonfiber, reclaimed wood and integrated solar panels. Up to 12 guests are hosted in six cabins, looked after by 11 crew members with comfortable staff quarters. There’s also a beach club, movie theatre, spa, several bars, an ocean-facing hot-tub, multiple sunbathing areas and ‘water toys’ such as jetskis and a 6.5-metre tender. And when it comes to sitting down and discussing just how good life is, your party can gather around the dual-use fire pit or enlarged ice bucket in the centre of a circular outdoor seating area on the upper deck.
