Here we have another of Peter Gregory’s Atalanta projects – this time a Talbot-powered sports racer with a rakishly low aluminium two-seater body. Quoted in the ‘Trees’ column of the June issue of Thoroughbred & Classic Cars, a Mr John Bland wrote in with details of an example that had been fitted with a Talbot 105 engine and gearbox. He recalled that "during the 1950s I sold to a Mr MacQuaker a ‘105’ Talbot with a special open tourer body, registration ‘AXK 800’. Subsequently Mr MacQuaker acquired an RGS Atalanta chassis less engine and gearbox.
To this chassis he fitted the Talbot engine and pre-selector gearbox. Bland went on to state "I then modified the Talbot gearbox to allow for the open prop-shaft required for the RGS and I also did various other work on the car.
