Description

With this year's excitement concerning the 50th Anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type, it should be noted that similar enthusiasm greeted the Jaguar XK-120 in 1948. Its flowing lines and high speed capability were a bright spot in a United Kingdom not entirely recovered from World War II.

The production run lasted through 1954, when the XK-140 was introduced. The final iteration of the first XK line was the XK-150 which made its debut in 1958. It was a larger, more comfortable car, with the refinement of a decade's detail improvements in it. The same six-cylinder, double overhead cam engine provided the power and the purr of the Jaguar still perked up one's ears.

The XK-150 line consisted of a Drop Head Coupe, a Fixed Head Coupe and an Open Two Seater.

Our offered example is a 1958 OTS. This is the rarest of the three body styles, comprising only 13% of the production. It is also the most satisfying in appearance. With the top down, there is no sign of
