Ducati 1199 Panigale: Destination Milan

Ducati 1199 Panigale: Destination Milan

At the forthcoming EICMA fair in Milan, Ducati will present not only its exciting new 1199 Panigale superbike but also the entire 2012 range when it holds a press conference at the Teatro Dal Verme.

Company President Gabriele Del Torchio had every reason to be excited in his pre-event announcements. With the long-awaited Panigale, the famous Italian brand brings a competition-bred 195bhp V-twin, superlight weight (164kg), ride-by-wire, ABS and traction control technology from the race track to the street. New for 2012 will be the 1199 Panigale, 1199 Panigale S and the 1199 Panigale S Tricolore. There’ll also be a new Streetfighter 848 coming in as a junior model to the existing Streetfighter S.

And the Diavel range gets an extra model with the introduction of the ‘Cromo’ that joins the AMG Special edition revealed in Frankfurt this year. All this activity obviously works, as the company is doing well in the market: sales (42,000 examples) and turnover (480m euros) represent a 20 per cent increase on the previous year.
