The Scuderia Spider 16M was named by Ferrari to celebrate its victory in the 16th Formula One Constructors’ title, secured at November’s Brazilian Grand Prix. It is instantly recognisable because of its special livery, of which two versions are available: the basic specification of black with grey edging, or an optional 3-colour livery from the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme. The car has a special plaque celebrating the 16th Constructors' World Championship title on its rear grille.

The extensive use of carbonfibre and stripped trim has taken 80kg off the weight of the F430 Spider, reducing the Scuderia 16M down to 1340kg. The 16M features, as standard, the rear carbon diffuser panel which was a £10k option on the Scuderia Coupé.

With only 499 being produced worldwide, and reportedly only 39 right-hand drive examples for the UK, the Scuderia Spider 16M is likely to be a good long-term investment. Confirming its exclusivity is the silver ‘serie limitata’ plaque just above the air-conditioning vents on the dash, while special features include a rollover bar with a carbonfibre outer shell, and a new-generation audio system which can be combined with the removable, personalised Ferrari iPod Touch 16GB, which is docked in the dash.

Earlier this month, the Scuderia Spider 16M completed the famous hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a record time of 59 seconds.
