On Friday, August 14, during Monterey Car Week in Northern California, La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse will present the freshest display of motor cars on the peninsula. The event will offer Italian sportscars, exotics and classic race cars, along with other European examples on public display.

While the Friday schedule offers multiple car shows, art expos and auction previews, La Dolce Vita Automobili is carving a niche of its own. Unlike previous shows held at the Black Horse Golf Course, which flaunted rows of Ferraris and the better part of 1000 vehicles, La Dolce Vita Automobili is dedicated to showcasing under-served marques with just a few hundred cars, giving proper attention to layout and details that allow every car the profile it deserves.

La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse was formed to deliver a proper Italian car show on the green, reminiscent of earlier days on the peninsula, when people gathered at The Quail on Friday prior to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to admire ‘etceterini’ as much as supercars.

When the event was formed in late 2008, it was the only Italian car show evidenced on the peninsula. Returning such an event to the Black Horse Golf Course meant giving cars the lush backdrop they deserve and room to admire cars from all angles, while mingling and enjoying the vendor marketplace, wine, music and atmosphere.

The display will be well-rounded, with a strong showing expected from both the Alfa Romeo community and owners of Maserati cars who will celebrate ‘Maserati Days’ during the event. Lamborghinis of virtually every colour of the rainbow have registered to exhibit, while featured marques from other events on the peninsula will be showcased in a speciality display, currently offering examples of Bugatti and Porsche.

A La Dolce Vita Scholarship Fund has been established to assist young people aiming to follow a career in automotive design, shaping the classic cars of tomorrow. The Collectors Foundation will manage and disperse the funds to students at various design colleges around the United States. Funds will be generated through a silent auction offering music, sports and other memorabilia throughout the day and a portion of all ticket sales will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children, currently flying burn victims to a Northern California facility from a pre-school that recently caught fire.



Tickets are set at $70.00. Those aged 17 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. This is one more way that La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse is hoping to ‘preserve the admiration of collector cars among future generations’.
