There’s plenty of temptation with Gooding & Company this October

Future classics, all-time legends and a tempting barn find. The Geared Online sale has us quivering over the ‘bid now’ button and here’s a few reasons why…

The BMW E36 M3 always had a tricky act to follow, in time they have steadily gone up in value. Today the good ones command more money than the newer E46 model, there is a good reason for that. Unlike the E30 before so many of the E36 fell into bad ownership, many were convertibles and finding a good original coupe is now very tricky. This white, first year and low mileage example, is just the sort of car to be occasionally enjoyed and will undoubtedly appreciate, one minor quibble if we are being picky, it is an automatic, but that makes it even rarer! Sticking with the young-timers, the stunning Manganese Brown with Palomino cloth interior Mercedes-Benz 230 CE coupe is a real time casual of a car. Mercedes are the master of the pillarless coupe and this fine example deserve a closer look. Also deserving your time is the 2005 Ferrari 575M Maranello. Grigio Titanium is one of the finest colours on this body shape, but it's whats inside the cabin that is really special. This is one of only 246 manual examples and with just 9100 miles on the odometer, it is run in and ready to be enjoyed.

Only a fool would disagree that the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso is one of the most beautiful cars in the world. Originally supplied in Azzuro the car has been refinished in Amaranto which really suits the coachwork, this was part of a restoration in 2013 and makes this Lusso a very useable proposition. Lastly a special mention for the Jaguar XK120 roadster barn find, the term is often over-used and finds are increasingly rare. Recently discovered in a South Carolina garage, this car has some interesting club level activity with the Cleveland Sports Car Club from the early 60’s. The event plaques still remain and I think, make a good argument for just getting this car running well and safe, to be enjoyed wearing its fine patinated body work.
