Description
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and engineered by Giotto Bizzarrini, the Iso Grifo was a limited grand tourer produced by Iso Autoveicoli S.p.A between 1965 and 1974.
Fitted with a big block Chevrolet engine, it had claimed top speed of 300 kph which bested many Ferraris and Lamborghini at the time. Iso took the best of what Italy and North America had to offer.
The giant 7,0L GM engine needed a large scoop in the bonnet which somewhat disturbed the smooth lines of Iso Grifo Series Two. However, this specific Series Two comes with the elegant flat bonnet which made the Series One such a hit.
Produced in the penultimate year of production in 1973, this particular car was one of the final Grifo’s produced. The car left the factory specified with the desirable ZF five speed manual gearbox and Campagnolo alloy wheels.
Attention was paid to the body, changing its original colour of green to the stunning grey you see today. The original Campagnolo wheels are still in the possession of the current owner should you wish to change the appearance.
Today the car is in magnificent condition, ready to be entered into concours events. All interior accessories such as the original Becker Radio and various dials function correctly.
The combination of a stunning exterior and interior have led to this vehicle winning 2016 Best of Show Coppa Classic Concours and second in the 2016 Concours Paleis Het Loo.
Features include a black leather interior, original Becker radio, electric windows and air-conditioning all still functional.
