Premiered at the Paris Salon in 1953, the 'TV' (Turismo Veloce) was the higher performance version of the newly introduced FIAT 1100 Berlina (saloon). Introduced at the Geneva Salon earlier that same year, the 1100/103 featured unitary construction of the chassis/body and was powered by an entirely new 1,089cc overhead-valve four-cylinder engine. Saloon and station wagon models were offered. For the Turismo Veloce (Fast Touring), power was raised from 36 to 50bhp, giving the TV a top speed of 135km/h. A single spot lamp on the centre of the radiator grille was a distinguishing feature of the TV, which featured additional exterior chrome trim, Carrozzeria Speciali Fiat signature and could be ordered with two-tone paintwork. A trasformabile (convertible) TV was added to the range in 1955, while Carrozzeria Pininfarina had been offering its own two-door coupé on the 1100 TV platform since 1953. The TV was raced extensively by FIAT's more sporting customers, its most prestigious victories including class wins at the Mille Miglia in 1954 and 1955.

The charming FIAT 1100 TV offered here previously belonged to MARVA (the Mille Miglia Storica organising committee directed by Costantino Franchi). Driven by invited celebrities: sportsmen, journalists, and members of the business community, it has participated in that prestigious event on no fewer than 19 occasions, the last being in 2011 (documentation on file). The car has belonged to the present owner (organiser of the Antwerp Concours d'Élégance) since 2011, and in 2017 was a finisher in the Gran Premio Nuvolari where it performed surprisingly well amongst other more powerful competitor cars.

An older restoration, the FIAT has been maintained in recent times by classic and vintage car specialists LMB in Belgium and Strada e Corsa in the Netherlands. The most recent service was carried out in September 2020, and the car is described by the vendor as in good condition throughout. Related bills are on file together with the car's Belgian registration papers, ASI Certificate (Gold Plate), FIVA passport and a copy of the old Italian registration papers.

This charming, little car is very likely to be accepted for a future Mille Miglia retrospective we've been informed and is probably the cheapest way of ensuring entry into this most prestigious historic motor sports event on the planet. Dévoilée au Salon de Paris en 1953, la TV (Turismo Veloce) était la version haute performance de la nouvelle Fiat 1100 berlina. Dévoilée au salon de Genève l'année précédente, la 1100/103 recourait à une structure monocoque et était propulsée par un tout nouveau 4 cylindres à soupapes en tête de 1 089 cm3. Une berline et un break figuraient au catalogue. Pour la Turismo Veloce (tourisme rapide), la puissance du 4 cylindres de 1 098 cm3 a été portée de 36 à 50 ch, donnant une vitesse maximale de 135 km/h à la TV. Un phare unique au centre de la calandre était un des traits caractéristiques de la TV qui profitait de chromes supplémentaires, de la signature de la carrozzeria Speciali Fiat et pouvait être commandée avec un peinture deux tons. Une version trasformabile (cabriolet) TV fut ajoutée à la gamme en 1955, tandis que la carrozzeria Pininfarina proposait son propre coupé deux portes sur base 1100 TV depuis 1953. La TV fut engagée en compétition par les clients les plus sportifs de Fiat, ses résultats les plus prestigieux étant des victoires de classe aux Mille Miglia en 1954 et 1955.

La charmante Fiat 1100 TV proposée ici appartenait auparavant au MARVA (comité d'organisation des Mille Miglia Storica, dirigé par Costantino Franchi). Pilotée par de multiples personnalités, des sportifs, des journalistes ou des hommes d'affaires, elle a participé à ce prestigieux événement pas moins de 19 fois, la dernière en 2011 (documentation au dossier). La voiture appartient à son actuel propriétaire (organisateur du concours d'élégance d'Anvers) depuis 2011, et a terminé au Gran Premio Nuvolari en 2017 où elle se mesurait à une concurrence bien plus puissante.

Sa restauration est déjà ancienne, la Fiat a été entretenue ces derniers temps par les spécialistes des voitures classiques et vintage LMB en Belgique et Strada e Corsa en Hollande. La révision la plus récente a été effectuée en septembre 2020 et la voiture est décrite par le vendeur comme étant en bon état général. Les factures sont au dossier avec les papiers d'immatriculation belge, son certificat ASI (Gold Plate), son passeport FIVA et une copie de ses anciens papiers d'immatriculation italienne.

Cette charmante petite voiture est éligible pour une future rétrospective des Mille Miglia nous a-t-on informé, et reste probablement le moyen le plus économique de s'assurer une place dans la plus prestigieuse manifestation sportive historique du monde. Prête à participer une nouvelle fois aux Mille Miglia, cette Fiat 1100 TV est une occasion à ne pas rater.
