This original factory Escort is equipped with the famous 1600 BDA engine with a HART valve cover and original Weber 45 carburettors with approximately 215-235 hp.

Because the factory was not finished in 1970, the first 260 MK1s RS1600 were built in the Twin Cam factory, they are therefore extra special and especially rare.

This RS1600 is fully rally/race prepared and equipped with a safety device roll cage, Tony Law exhaust manifold, Works gas mechanism, Gartrac Pedalbox, dry sump oil system, double fuel tank, pumps and battery, custom cooling and gearbox, reinforced front suspension with custom steering, 15'' Revolution rims, Atlas rear axle with 4-link + Proflex shock absorbers, AP stainless steel braking system and various other extras. The bodywork is fully welded.

The original dashboard is still in nice condition with the right patina, the interior has been adapted with new Cobra bucket seats, electrically adjustable three-point seatbelts and a QCP hydraulic handbrake.

Since the car’s restoration, only a few test kilometres were driven to see if everything worked.

No expense or effort spared to turn this original Works Escort RS1600 into a perfect rally car, this was done with a lot of knowledge and attention to detail. RAC rally log is available, as well as documentation and photos.
