Black Edition Series
Only 37 590 miles
3rd hand

Produced by the Morris Garage brand and manufactured from 1962 to 1980, the MG B is the epitome of the sports convertible in the pure English tradition. When it comes out, it has the heavy task of succeeding the MG A, and of preserving its values and sensations while offering more comfort and safety. To achieve this, it will be built on the basis of a more rigid monocoque body offering better habitability. This unit will be driven by a four-cylinder 1800 cc engine developing 95 horsepower and allowing it to reach 170 km/h top speed. Presented at the London Motor Show in 1962, the MG B immediately met with the expected success and the first road tests validated the car's announced qualities. The MG B would evolve over the years to meet the increasingly demanding standards imposed by the American market, where it was the best-selling car. In spite of this, its success did not diminish and until 1980, a total of 512,880 convertibles and coupes were sold throughout the world.

The copy we present is a MG B Black Edition registered in 1980 in Florida. Its second owner took possession of it in 1986 and only drove it for 5000 miles in 34 years. Imported in France by its current owner in 2020, our MG B is today in good condition. Its structure is rust free and its interior is well preserved. Its odometer shows 37,590 miles or about 60,500 km. Last year it received a new soft top and a new exhaust system. The carburetor and the braking system have been overhauled. With its black colour, special rims and side stickers, our MG B has an original look. Initially produced in 500 units, this edition will be a great success and 6682 units will finally be produced. Our charming copy will be sold with its American title and its FFVE certificate allowing you to obtain a French registration as an historic vehicle.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Paris, France, on March the 21th, 2021.
The digital catalog and information about health situation will be updated on our website.
