The 1974 model year brought many significant changes to the 911 to meet legislative requirements around the world for both impact safety and emissions. First, the engine size was increased to 2,687 cc achieving higher torque. Second, new impact bumpers conformed with low-speed protection requirements of US regulations. Thirdly, the use of K-Jetronic CIS Bosch fuel injection in two of the three models in the line up— the 911 and 911S models, retaining the narrow rear arches of the old 2.4, now had a 2.7-litre engine rated at 150 PS (110 kW; 150 hp) and 175 PS (129 kW; 173 hp), respectively.

Only few 1975-77 911s seem to have survived. The changes included the start of the so-called “short hood” cars, which included 5 mph bumpers. Porsche did a far better job integrating these than most other manufacturers. In 1974 and 1975, Porsche offered a 2.7 liter Carrera but the more preffered are sure the Euro cars. They had the 175 PS motor as the 911S, almost 20 more than the US examples. Finally, the 911s got a dip in a zinc galvanizing bath prior to paint. The result was the most rust-resistant 911 yet.

This beautiful Sahara Beige US example comes for the sale right after a complete renovation with a long-term previous ownership. It comes also with a full service history and the car has got matching numbers confirmed by the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. It has 80.000 original kilometres from new that are confirmed by the UK MOT report. The car has a Czech historic registration, but it can be registered to regular plates.
