Renato Rascel (27th April 1912, Turin - 2nd January 1991, Rome) is the stage name of Renato Ranucci Massa, an Italian singer-songwriter and actor, regarded by many as a classic in Italian music.

His great versatility and enormous sense of humour made him earn the liking of Italian and worldwide audiences, and the romantic feeling of his voice, with pleasant nuances, allowed him to popularise many songs that crossed the borders of Italian language.

Among his extensive repertoire are ‘Arrivederci Roma’, ‘Venticello de Roma’, ‘Domenica' sempre domenica’, ‘Roma nun fa' la stupida stasera’ and ‘Canzone Romantica’, that earned him first place at the 1960 Sanremo Festival.

This Maserati 3500 GT was acquired in Modena by Renato Rascel on the 18th of April 1958, as stated in the documents still with the car. The history of the car is very well documented, and it includes (inside the old leather case with Maserati logos) all sorts of manuals and documents about its history.

With its beautiful colour combination of Ischia blue and red leather upholstery, this same car was used for the brand advertising in 1958. We are attaching photographs of the original catalogue where you can see this same car in original condition.

This car, chassis number 101080, was discovered in the early 2000s in need of a full restoration. It took place between 2002 and 2007, as stated in the photo report of the restoration, which also comes with the car.

It is probable one of the best Maserati 3500GT for sale nowadays. The car still has its original Italian number plates with which it was used for the first time. However, it is currently registered in France.

The restoration was done in Italy by the Maserati reference specialist Fratelly Brothers, and the full originality of the car was preserved, except for the floor carpet, with was originally red and was replaced with a grey one.

The car runs exquisitely, the 4-speed gearbox shifts smoothly and the carburetion has just been adjusted. All mouldings and windows are original of the car.

The car has not travelled more than 2,000 km since the restoration. The car was at the Chantilly (France) Concours d’Elegance in 2016 and it was awarded in the 2018 Autoretro Concours d’Elegance in Barcelona (picture attached).

The seller has a car lift, test plates with insurance, and all tools that might be necessary for those interested in the vehicle in order to test the condition of the car. This vehicle has been personally inspected by a Catawiki expert.

This vehicle is located in Madrid, Spain.
