Fully restored from the chassis up ("Nuts & Bolts") over a period of 5 years (2010-2015). Sold new in Toronto by James L Cooke Motors on 23 February 1955. Chassis 103e / 1127 (all inclusive) manufactured in 1955 (number DHC LHD: 817112 to 818239).

The vehicle is virtually brand new (2000 km driven since the end of the restoration). It drives perfectly, with a very powerful engine and a more reliable Getrag gearbox. Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate available (see photo).

XK 140 SE (cylinder head type C 210hp). The engine was replaced in the past with an engine from the same G1938-8 series. Gxxxx-8 is specified for 1955 with a compression ratio of 8.

Only 2311 LHD XK140DHC were produced, and 699 in 1955 (429 with automatic transmission). Matching colours (except that the original white shade was more creamy...).

This vehicle was restored to be easier to use with modern modifications:

- Brakes (front disc conversion)
- Hydraulic power steering
- Electronic starter.
- Automatic belt tensioner
- 5-speed Getrag gearbox
- Alternator

This vehicle will be delivered with a French registration document (grey card). This XK was purchased from a Jaguar specialist in France (Lansart) in 2010, who had imported it in 2008. No further details about the previous owners than what is listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust.

The hull number of a 1955 DHC should be between P3001 and P5791, the vehicle's hull number is P3215 although the Heritage Trust says 3244... All this information is to be taken with a grain of salt because the records at the time were only kept on computer in a Cartesian manner as is the case now.

In any case, the vehicle's chassis number corresponds to a Special Equipment model manufactured at the beginning of 1955 with its cylinder head type C, i.e. "S817215", being the 103rd/1127 of all chassis combined that left the factory in 1955 (DHC LHD number: 817112 to 818239).

The engine number of the plate and cold heading "G1938-8" also corresponds, according to the literature, to a block manufactured at the beginning of 1955. Only 2311 LHD XK140 DHC were produced, 699 of which were produced in 1955 with a manual gearbox (429 with automatic gearbox). The vehicle being sold is one of the 699 copies.
