Description

Upon its debut in 2003, the Phantom model moved the Rolls-Royce company boldly into the 21st century. The Phantom’s imposing scale and grandeur retained the model’s time-honored proportions while achieving a thoroughly modern design. Yet for Rolls-Royce, living up to the “Best Car in the World” moniker presents a constant and ever evolving challenge. In 2007, a drophead coupe variant debuted on the Phantom platform and drew heavily from the design of the lauded Rolls-Royce 100EX concept car. The V-12 powerplant is rated at 453 hp at 5,300 rpm, and its 5.3-second 0–60 time and 150 mph top speed belie the Drophead Coupe’s nearly 5,900-pound curb weight.

This Phantom Drophead Coupe from 2010 was originally specified in Diamond Black Metallic over a Seashell leather interior, which is dramatically accented by Piano Black wood veneer panels. Rolls-Royce firsts, the opulent teak decking comprises the power folding top’s hard tonneau, which was inspired by the J-Class sailing yachts of the 1930s, and the rear fascia of the trunk was engineered to lower, creating ideal seating for a champagne picnic.

The Rolls-Royce has been maintained in the motor pool of the consignor’s Florida and New Hampshire estates since 2015, and showed a scant 14,333 miles at the time of cataloguing. A major service, performed in late 2017, saw attention to the charging, cooling, and braking systems. It is offered with its tools, battery tender, a tire inflator, and twin umbrellas, which reside within its front fenders. Opulent in every way, this elegantly appointed open-top Phantom stands ready to ensconce its next owner with luxury beyond compare.
