This 1976 Triumph TR6 has been sourced in the United States. In the past the car had a re-spray and the paintwork remains in good condition except for some minor blemishes. The neat bodywork has straight and well aligned panelwork. The chassis is also straight and sound. Recent chrome bumpers have replaced the American rubber ones, they and the wheels are neat. The black hood is in good used condition, shuts securely and of course is undamaged. A tonneau cover is there for those sun-filled days. The beige interior trim has developed a nice patina. The wooden dashboard is no longer new but still neat. All controls and instruments are in good working order. The straight-six 2.5 litre is coupled to a 4-seed manual gearbox. The engine runs well and the gearbox works precisely. The previous owner took great care of his Triumph and is therefore still lovely to drive. The Triumph TR6 was before the advent of its successor the TR7, Triumph’s best selling car. If we look back with today’s knowledge it is clear which of the two has remained the public’s favourite. Soon after turning the key the TR6 removes any doubt as to the popularity contest’s winner. The TR6 has its good looks and is undoubtably much more fun to drive.
