Sophia Loren, Tony Curtis, Clark Gable: das sind nur ein paar der berühmten Besitzer des schnittigen Sportwagens. 1957 hat der bis zu 260 km/h schnelle 300 SL Roadster seine Weltpremiere auf dem Genfer Automobil-Salon. Der Nachfolger des bereits legendären 300 SL Gullwing entspricht technisch weitgehend dem Coupé, allerdings mit verbesserten Fahreigenschaften. Nur 1858 Exemplare dieser Legende wurden gebaut.

VON DER ERSTEN BIS ZUR LETZTEN SCHRAUBE

Ausgangspunkt jeder 6 Sterne Restauration eines Mercedes-Benz Klassikers ist immer die komplette Demontage des Basisfahrzeugs in unserer Werkstatt. Dabei werden alle Teile gesichtet und katalogisiert. Unbrauchbare Komponenten werden aussortiert. Andere, die sich zur Wiederaufbereitung eignen, versetzen unsere Spezialisten mit äußerster Sorgfalt in Neuzustand. Alle fehlenden, beschädigten und verschlissenen Komponenten werden durch neue Original-Teile von Mercedes ersetzt – von der ersten bis zur letzten Schraube. Ein beispielloses Vorgehen bei der Restauration von Oldtimern.

NEUER ALTER GLANZ

Mit höchster Präzision und gewissenhafter Hingabe wird das Schmuckstück wieder zum Leben erweckt: Von der kompletten chemischen Entlackung über die sorgfältige Motor- und Getriebe-Revision, von aufwändiger Interieur-Erneuerung, KTL-Beschichtung der Karosserie wie bei modernen Serienfahrzeugen und umfassender Rostvorsorge bis hin zur finalen Lackierung. Nach der vollendeten BRABUS Classic 6 Sterne Restauration bewertet die führende Oldtimer-Sachverständigenorganisation Classic Data das Fahrzeug mit der Note 1+ Zertifikat. Für die einzigartige Qualität und Originaltreue der Arbeiten erhält das Fahrzeug das Zusatzzertifikat „Neuwagencharakter“: Der Wagen ist wie neu – die 6 Sterne Restauration übertrifft den ursprünglichen Werks-Auslieferungszustand hinsichtlich Verarbeitungsqualität und Rostvorsorge sogar. Ein Klassiker, der in dieser Qualität nur bei BRABUS Classic zu finden ist.

Selbstverständlich erfolgt eine 6-Sterne-Restauration nach dem Prinzip der „Matching Numbers“: Das restaurierte Fahrzeug lief mit exakt demselben Motor und Getriebe vom Band, mit dem es jetzt ausgerüstet ist. Das gilt auch für alle übrigen Baugruppen. Außerdem entspricht die Lackfarbe, die Farbe der Innenausstattung und viele weitere Details der Originalversion.

From the first to the last screw

The start of any BRABUS Classic 6-Star Restoration of a Mercedes-Benz classic always is the complete disassembly of the base vehicle in our workshop. All parts are inspected and indexed in the process. Unserviceable parts are discarded. Others that are suitable for reconditioning are returned to new condition by our specialists with utmost care. All missing, damaged or worn out components are replaced with newly manufactured genuine Mercedes parts – from the first to the last bolt. An unparalleled approach in the restoration of vintage cars.

New age shine

The automotive gem is brought back to life with maximum precision and deep devotion: This starts with the chemical removal of all paint. The engine and transmission are thoroughly overhauled, the interior is elaborately restored, the body is given a cataphoretic dip primer coat as can be found on modern production vehicles and then undergoes a comprehensive rust protection treatment before receiving its final paint finish. Once all work steps are completed, the Mercedes classic once again shines in its new old luster.

GRADE A+ CERTIFICATE

After the completed BRABUS Classic 6-Star Restoration, Classic Data, the leading experts’ organization for vintage cars, awards the vehicle a grade of A+. In addition, because of the unique quality of the work and its true-to-the-original character, the vehicle is given a supplementary certificate attesting it "new car character."
