Whilst the 911 can claim the rights for being the most iconic Porsche of all time, the Porsche 356 was everyone's favourite in the ’60s. Especially in this particular presentation. We have a top-quality fully restored Porsche 356B (T5) Roadster. The remarkable history of these 356 Roadsters as they arrived at a moment when it was not certain they would still remain street legal in the States. Due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the latter and much against Porsche’s expectations, the sales of the Roadster were disappointing. Of course, this makes today's Porsche 356B (T5) Roadsters an even rarer Porsche 356 variant. Our car first hit the roads in the States in 1960. Drauz were responsible for the rare bodywork and it is clear it is in wonderful shape. The recent full body-off restoration is in abundant evidence. The panelwork is nice and thin and perfectly aligned. The chrome brightwork is all in lovely condition and fixed to the bodywork without any gaps. The restoration was topped with a re-spray in the original finish. The silver-grey paintwork suits the Porsche’s elegant demeanour. The “Silver Metallic 5706” paint has been expertly applied and remains in great shape. The interior has been completely re-upholstered in the original colour scheme. The black linen hood is simply pristine and naturally easy to use. It has top-quality beige coloured carpets. The seats and rear bench, upholstered in nice navy blue leatherette, are similarly in perfect condition. What really stands out is the fantastic condition of the dashboard. The counters look fab and work perfectly, the dashboard is colour-coded to match the rest of the bodywork and has the same luxurious and sporty appeal they must have had for its first owner in the 60’s. The car comes with its Porsche “birth certificate” that not only confirms it is a 356B Roadster with the original colour scheme but also confirms this car still has retained its original engine. We are happy to state the whole picture is absolutely true. The engine was fully overhauled during the restoration. The engine now runs perfectly giving this Porsche sporty performance credentials. The engine is lined up with a precise manual 5-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the undercarriage was taken in hand with many new parts fitted. It is a joy to drive this car with its impeccable driving manners. Whether you are driving into the sunset with your love next to you or taking the car down to the local supermarket, this Porsche 356 makes every occasion sensational. What we are trying to say is: This is a wonderful fully restored and beautifully presented Porsche 356B T5 Roadster. It is the perfect car for someone looking for turn-key classic pleasure!
