Description

The first-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, also known as the Porsche 930, was a cultural icon of the 1970s and 80s. Built to comply with FIA Group 4 homologation rules, the 930 took the 3.0L Carrera RSR engine and mated it to a KKK turbocharger, which increased total output to 260 horsepower; however, the Turbo's engine displacement was increased to 3.3L and intercooled in 1978, further boosting power to a staggering 300 horsepower. The car was an instant success with sports car enthusiasts, quickly exceeding the FIA requirements. On track as the 934 and 935 race cars and the open roads, the 911 Turbo created a stir in the automotive industry that would change how sports cars were built to this day. Unlike other sports cars that traded performance for comfort, Porsche believed you could have both in the 911 Turbo. The interior was well appointed with leather upholstery, air conditioning, and power windows, making the 930 a comfortable car to use daily. Yet, the turbocharged engine's raw power and explosive performance earned its title as the fasted German production car of its time.

This 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet is a stunning example of the 930 platform. Finished in Grand Prix White with matching Marine Blue leather and convertible top, this Turbo perfectly embodies the spirit of the 1980s. The car was well optioned, ordered with paint-matched Grand Prix White Fuch wheels, a heated driver's seat, and a factory short shifter. It has traveled just 14,600 miles over the last 33 years, making it an exceptionally low-mileage example. It is in pristine condition inside and out, with no noticeable signs of wear. Mechanically, this 930 performs flawlessly, with the car maintaining a calm demeanor at low revs and a ferocious acceleration on boost. For the P-Car enthusiast, few vehicles better represent 80s-era Porsche than this low-mileage 911 Turbo Cabriolet.
