Alec Issigonis designed the Mini in the late ’50s for BMC (British Motor Corporation). This Birmingham built a revolutionary car was overflowing with character. There was plenty of innovative use of technology we still can see in current cars, such as the transverse engine position and front-wheel drive. The mini is especially known for the way it drives. It really is a Go-kart for the open roads, what a delight!. BMC surprised friends and foes alike by winning the 1964 Monte Carlo rally with a Copper S. Our little fellow is an original Cooper S Mk II that left the factory on the 24th May 1968 for Düsseldorf in Germany where it was first registered. Since 1992 the car has been in the Netherlands. Some time ago this Mini was extensively restored, the quality of which one can still appreciate today. Although not in mint condition the paintwork is still very neat. The interior trim is also very neat, the re-upholstered seats have withstood the effects of time very well. Driving this little devil is simply out of this world! The overhauled mechanics still work very well. The accompanying certificate confirms that this car has its original and thus matching numbers engine. The Snowberry white finish is the same colour as the one it had when it was first delivered. What a car, one for the true motorist I think!
