This wonderful Porsche 356C was supplied when new to the States in 1964. In 1999 the car was exported to the Netherlands and sold to a Swede. The moment it reached Sweden the restoration and overhaul was started lasting nearly three years. It was an exhaustive process. The car was taken back to bare metal before being re-sprayed in the silver finish it still has. This is a Porsche 356C Coupé.. The “C” was the third and last guise of the Porsche 356. The technological development was exponential in the 50’s. This 356C benefitted from disc brakes on all four corners as well as many small upgrades that according to the connoisseur makes this most grown up Porsche 356. The main reason the car is still in outstanding condition is thanks to the very thorough and well executed restoration works. The fine bodywork has lovely and correctly aligned panelwork. Both underneath the car and the bodywork are virtually unmarked and fully rust-free. During the restoration the great decision was made to clad the inside out in stunning red carpets and red leather. The high quality carpets are well-fitted and still in very good shape. The leather has developed a lovely patina making it even more alluring than when new. All instruments and controls are also in great shape. The 90 horsepower engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual. Both engine and gearbox shift perfectly and immediately leave you in doubt that this is a sports car. This Porsche has, as expected, fantastic roadholding and matching driving characteristics.
