The History
The new BMW Z8 made its first appearance in “007 The World is Not Enough” in 1999 even before reaching the dealers, sparking the fantasies of the fans.
The one portrayed in many scenes of the film, however, is only a faithful reconstruction in fiberglass, because the actual car is still being completed in Bavaria. But it is at the Los Angeles Motor Show that the Z8 finally receives its consecration from throngs of visitors who decree the absolute premiership of the event.
The new Z8 boasts an aluminum frame on which the 4,941 cc V8 of the contemporary M5 E39 rests longitudinally, combined with a six-speed manual gearbox, which was able to reach 400 HP. Born as a roadster, the Z8 can also be transformed into a coupé-like, thanks to the hard-top, which can be ordered as an option when purchasing the car instead of the classic canvas top. The dashboard is enveloping, with body-colored moldings, the steering wheel has thin spokes and the instrumentation is centrally located. The satellite navigation system is hidden in the compartment below the air conditioning system. The Z8 reaches 100 kph in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 kph that is self-limited: without limiter the car would be a lot faster than it. vA particular commercial policy is also applied to the BMW Z8, with the aim of making its potential buyer feel very special. Each dealer can in fact present the range of colors available with scale models of the car.
The Z8 had an absolutely unexpected commercial success, also for its not exactly meager price of € 130,000. The marvelous charm of this car is due to the iconic BMW 507 from 50s, source of ispiration for the design, specially in the front of the car. From 2000 to 2003, 5,703 examples were produced by BMW.

This car is in spectacular condition, like new and its Hell Red painting gives the viewer a feeling of timeless allure. The painting is shiny, patinated and without imperfections, by running a hand on the curved parts of the body the tactile sensation is similar to the texture of velvet. This BMW Z8 looks new, as if it just came off the assembly line. The interior is extraordinarily perfect, with no signs of wear or even less use, as well as the soft red leather of the seats with black inserts, is intact, like new. The style of the instrumentation is retro, but definitely hi-tech, with ergonomically arranged levers and buttons. The engine and its housing seem to have no traces of use, each component is new and shiny as if it had just been collected by the Dealer.
On the road, thanks to its center of gravity at the driver's knee and an exuberant torque, the Z8 fully demonstrates that it is one of the fastest and safest on the market, among the cars of the turn of the century.
