Vehicle history:

The BMW M1 was the first ever product from BMW's legendary motorsport department. A gifted start, as the M1 marks the beginning of a series of many legendary sports cars from the Munich company. The mid-engine sports car with the louvres on the bonnet was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro with his Turin design studio Italdesign. The BMW M1 was made for use on the racetrack. The street version went down in history as “Germany's fastest sports car” - with a top speed of over 260 km / h. The racing versions of the BMW M1 according to the Group 4 and 5 regulations were even more impressive.
This beautiful example was delivered in October 1985 by the BMW branch in Frankfurt to its current owner, who has moved it a total of 65,765 km in the last 40 years. The service booklet and the original owner's manual complete a very exciting vehicle that can be considered a milestone in the BMW company's history.

Fahrzeughistorie:

Der BMW M1 war das erste Produkt der legendären Motorsport Abteilung von BMW überhaupt. Ein begnadeter Startschuss, bildet doch der M1 den Auftakt einer Serie vieler legendärer Sportwagen aus dem Münchner Haus. Gestaltet wurde der Mittelmotor Sportwagen mit den Lamellen auf der Motorhaube von Giorgetto Giugiaro mit seinem Turiner Designstudio Italdesign. Der BMW M1 war mit jeder Schraube für den Einsatz auf der Rennstrecke gemacht. Die Straßenversion ging als „schnellster Sportwagen Deutschlands“ in die Geschichtsbücher ein – mit einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von über 260 km/h. Die Rennsportvarianten des BMW M1 nach dem Reglement der Gruppe 4 und 5 waren sogar noch einmal imposanter.
Dieses schöne Exemplar wurde im Oktober 1985 über die BMW-Niederlassung in Frankfurt an seinen jetzigen Eigentümer ausgeliefert, der ihn insgesamt immerhin 65.765 km in den letzten 40 Jahren bewegte. Serviceheft und original Betriebsanleitung vervollständigen ein sehr spannendes Fahrzeug, das als Meilenstein der BMW-Firmenhistorie gilt.
