This Mercedes-Benz convertible only had a production run of 4,778 units in 1972, the second year of production. In 1970, the Mercedes W107 was introduced as successor to the Mercedes Pagoda (W113). The production started in April 1971 and the only available models were the 350SL (BM 107.043) and 350SLC (BM 107.023) with a 3.5L V8 (M116), electronic fuel injection (Bosch D-jetronic) and a manual 4-speed or an optional 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivered a power of 200 hp.

Only 15,304 units were produced of this Mercedes 350SL, making this car a true collectible.

This Mercedes is still in a very original condition. The interior is still in a relatively neat (and original) condition, especially for a 45-year-old car. The car is also equipped with euro-bumpers (original) and matching lacquered hubcaps (also original). The engine compartment also looks neat (and once again, original). Furthermore, this year the car got a new paint coat in the Netherlands in the original colour code 904 Midnight (Dark) Blue.

The car does have a few points that need attention; The soft top is outdated and will need to be replaced. Furthermore, the car runs well but doesn’t idle nicely, in addition, the Mercedes has not been driven much in recent years, a small technical service will be required.

These Mercedes convertibles are starting to follow the prices of the Pagoda, especially the rare 350SL with euro bumpers, so don’t wait too long!
