So wurde der Porsche 964 präsentiert.

Der Porsche 964 ist das Nachfolgemodell des Porsche 911 „G-Modells“ und kam 1989 auf den Markt.
Der 964 wurde sowohl mit Heckantrieb Carrera 2, als auch mit Allradantrieb Carrera 4 angeboten. Generell waren für den Porsche 964 Ausstattungen erhältlich, die beim Vorgängermodell nicht angeboten wurden, wie zum Beispiel Servolenkung und Antiblockiersystem.
Nach einer Produktionszeit des Porsche 911 von über 15 Jahren wurde ein Modellwechsel dringend notwendig. Ebenfalls wandelte sich die Kundschaft, die einen Porsche 911 fahren wollte. Bei der Kaufentscheidung stand nun nicht mehr allein die reine Fahrleistung des Wagens im Vordergrund, sondern auch der Fahrkomfort.
Um wieder ein modernes und auch marktfähiges Fahrzeug anbieten zu können, wurde der Porsche 964 entwickelt.
Durch die strömungstechnisch günstigere Karosserieform und vor allem auch wegen der Vollverkleidung des Wagenbodens wurde ein bis dahin beim 911er unerreicht geringer Luftwiderstandsbeiwert (Cw) von 0,32 erzielt. So erreicht ein 964 mit 250 PS die gleiche Endgeschwindigkeit von etwa 260 km/h wie der um 37 kW (50 PS) stärkere Porsche 911 Turbo (Typ 930) aus der alten G-Modellreihe.
Der automatisch bei einer Geschwindigkeit von ca. 80 km/h ausfahrende Heckspoiler des 964 ersetzte bei allen Carrera-Modellen den optionalen, bisher feststehenden, Heckspoiler. Dieser bewirkt eine bessere Aerodynamik und eine bessere Motorkühlung.

Zunächst wurde der Wagen nur als Carrera 4 mit Allradantrieb parallel zum Modell 911 Carrera 3,2 der alten Form angeboten. Ab 1989 war der Porsche 964 auch mit Heckantrieb als Carrera 2 lieferbar.
Die bis dahin nur gegen Aufpreis angebotenen Airbags auf Fahrer- und Beifahrerseite waren ab Februar 1991 serienmäßig.

Der von uns angebotene Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabrio ist in einem einwandfreiem Originalzustand mit original erst 41.300 Meilen. Typisch für eine Erstauslieferung in die USA ist eine Klimaanlage und auch Airbags wurden zusätzlich bestellt. Durch das beiliegende „Carfax“ kann die Historie in den USA mit sämtlichen durchgeführten Service und andere Details nachvollzogen werden. Seit 2016 befindet sich das Fahrzeug in Deutschland und hat im September 2020 die 30-Jahre-Grenze überschritten, wodurch er nun problemlos mit einem H-Kennzeichen und jeglichen Vorteilen zugelassen werden kann. Ein absolut alltagstauglicher, junger Klassiker.

This is how the Porsche 964 was presented.

The Porsche 964 is the successor to the Porsche 911 „G-Model“ and came on the market in 1989.
The 964 was offered with both rear-wheel drive Carrera 2 and all-wheel drive Carrera 4. In general, equipment was available for the Porsche 964 that was not offered on the previous model, such as power steering and anti-lock braking system.
After the Porsche 911 had been in production for over 15 years, a model change was urgently necessary. The customers who wanted to drive a Porsche 911 also changed. When making a purchase decision, the focus was no longer solely on the car’s performance, but also on driving comfort.
In order to be able to offer a modern and marketable vehicle again, the Porsche 964 was developed.
Thanks to the aerodynamically more favorable body shape and, above all, the full paneling of the vehicle floor, an unmatched drag coefficient (Cw) of 0.32 was achieved in the 911. A 964 with 250 PS reaches the same top speed of around 260 km / h as the 37 kW (50 PS) more powerful Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 930) from the old G model series.
The rear spoiler of the 964, which extended automatically at a speed of approx. 80 km / h, replaced the optional, previously fixed, rear spoiler on all Carrera models. This causes better aerodynamics and better engine cooling.

Initially, the car was only offered as a Carrera 4 with all-wheel drive parallel to the 911 Carrera 3.2 model of the old form. From 1989 the Porsche 964 was also available with rear-wheel drive as the Carrera 2.
The airbags on the driver and passenger side, which had previously only been offered at an extra charge, were standard from February 1991.

The Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabrio we offer is in perfect original condition with only 41,300 original miles. Air conditioning is typical for a first delivery to the USA, and airbags have also been ordered. With the enclosed „Carfax“, the history in the USA can be traced with all the services carried out and other details. The vehicle has been in Germany since 2016 and exceeded the 30-year limit in September 2020, which means that it can now be registered with an H license plate and any advantages without any problems. A young classic that is absolutely suitable for everyday use.
