MINI Cooper

The original Mini was produced in 1959 by BMC (British Motor Corporation), and was the first car to have front-wheel drive combined with a transversely-mounted engine. The revolutionary design was penned by Sir Alec Issigonis (1906–1988). Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor, until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. Currently, BMW produces a whole family of cars under the MINI brand.
