Description

Model history
The Porsche 911 was developed as a much more powerful, larger and more comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356.

The earliest 911’s had an air cooled 2.0 liter 6-cilinder boxer engine, producing initially 130hp. In 1967, Porsche introduced the high performance 911 S (160hp). The Targa version appeared the same year and was a true example of innovation for the German manufacturer.

This example

This particular Porsche 911 2.0 S Targa was originally ordered in December 1967 by Mr. Jürgen Neuhaus, a championship-winning factory Porsche racing driver. Mr. Neuhaus ordered this car with several unusual options, including a 100 liter endurance fuel tank. For his frequent ski trips in Switzerland, the Porsche was also equipped with a Webasto heater, travel ski bags, two Barverkauf suitcases and most noticeable: a heated glass rear window (three months before this option was officially was available).
First registered 1968.

In the early seventies the Porsche was sold to a very young Mr. Klaus Werner, who bought it at the age of 18 years old, because he could not afford a Ferrari 275. Mr. Werner kept the car until she was acquired for an American collector in Beverly Hills and eventually bought a 275. In the 1990’s, she was sold to another American collector in Texas. In this period the car was repainted in red.

In 2014 the car was exported to the Netherlands and in 2016, the car was professionally restored by well-known Porsche specialists Siemerink. The bodywork was stripped and repaired where necessary. All the mechanical parts have been rebuilt and documentation of all the work is available. After the restoration was finished the Targa has been stored in a garage and was rarely used. Today she resides in outstanding condition with its original engine and transmission and is a pleasure to drive.

This is a unique opportunity to buy a significant Porsche 911 2.0 S Targa with important provenance in excellent condition. This matching numbers car was originally finished in Tangerine (Blutorange), comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the factory Kardex which indicates among several unusual options, that this is the very first glass window Targa ever built. An interview with the first owner (who remembers the car well) is included with the documentation.

Price is euro 185.000,-.
