This is an ultimate driving experience for a 1970 Jaguar Series II E-Type OTS roadster that has had several key performance upgrades to make it sensational for touring, rallies or just driving pleasure. This has many features that harken back to competition lightweights and has benefitted from a no expense spared restoration.
With a total investment in excess of $300,000, this Jaguar is spectacular. The restoration started with a solid, nice original example and was completed in 2020 by Doctor Jag Technologies in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The parts alone cost in excess of $100,000, documented with nine pages of single-spaced lines of accounting detail. The stack of receipts is literally inches thick. The labor value was $II31,000 for the II,100 hours the craftsmen and engineers spent rebuilding this incredible roadster. This is part of a 70-car collection, including II6 Jaguars.
This E-Type has been beautifully finished in Carmen Red and has the D-Type style wheels, giving it a spectacular look. The paint, chrome and all the finish work are all in excellent condition.
The black leather interior and black carpeting is all new and without fault. New Jaguar branded seatbelts have been installed and everything in the interior is as-new. The dash, instruments and door panels are also either new or restored. Everything works as it should.
The heart of this particular E-Type is what lies beneath the bonnet. The engine has triple two-barrel Webers installed and headers with a big bore exhaust. Of course, a highly capacity and efficient aluminum radiator is also installed. But the main upgrade is the five-speed Tremec, which completely changes the drivability and capability of the motorcar. It is presumed that the engine is non-numbers matching and the motorcar comes with its original data plate, receipts and records of the restoration and the Historical Society certificate.
An independent inspection was conducted and the report is available for your review. It confirms the pristine condition of this roadster, as you would expect with a fresh restoration. If you are interested in acquiring the ultimate competition styled E-Type that is essentially better than new, this may be your motorcar.
