Trade-in car. This Series 1 Jaguar E-Type convertible forms an excellent platform to carry out an extensive restoration. In 1965 it was supplied from new in Germany and over the last 55 years has unfortunately lost some its lustre. Basically it is a perfectly sound car. The paintwork may not be great but the bodywork and chassis are rock solid. The hood needs replacing, but the seats are neat and usable and have acquired a lovely patina. The chrome wire wheels need re-chroming. As the car has not moved in some time, the engine and gearbox will need attention. A good fact is that both engine and gearbox are complete and probably require no more than an extensive service. This is typically the sort of car that will be transform beyond recognition after its restoration. As your starting with such as solid base, the restoration is most likely to be a pleasure to work on. Just imagine the fun you eventually will have driving this E-Type when all the work is done!
