Description

-- Für die deutsche Beschreibung besuchen Sie bitte unsere Website: www.carola-daimler.de --

This 190b Ponton is a true time machine, as it is in absolute original condition. It wears its first paint, with measured paint thicknesses between 20 and 50 μm all around. The interior is also still original - seats, carpets and wood nevertheless are well maintained and not worn.

The body is unwelded and has no rust through. In the engine compartment, the time travel continues, as the engine, transmission and almost all add-on parts are as old as the vehicle. However, since the Ponton was well maintained during this time and only driven a little over 40,000 km, the technology works flawlessly and doesn't let you down.

The small sedan was delivered to France in 1960 and was in the Bordeaux area of southern France until about 2008. There it wore the same license plate throughout its life, which is still on the vehicle.

A likeable, very original vehicle which is very rare to find in this condition.

History of the series
------------------------
The Ponton 180 marked the beginning of the self-supporting body era at Daimler-Benz in 1953. As the successor to the pre-war 170 S model, these received the same engine and the two-joint swing axle at the beginning of their construction.

Three years later, the 190 Ponton appeared, which received the engine derived from the 190 SL and somewhat throttled. Besides the engine, the 190 Ponton differed from its little brother with additional chrome trim, a second sun visor, opening triangular windows and other details.

In June 1959, the "b" version appeared, which was equipped with an adapted interior for more safety and 5 more horsepower.
