The History of the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR
With the intention of reviving the feeling of its iconic racing cars of the 1950s, Mercedes-Benz joined forces with McLaren to give life to the SLR McLaren.
Under the hood of the first SLR pulsed a mighty 616-hp version of the supercharged, 5.4-liter V-8 that Mercedes-Benz's AMG division adopted for its SL 55 and CL 55, highly modified.
The engine was soon modified to use a dry sump lubrication system and a Lysholm-type twin-screw compressor was also adopted, powered by a pair of mighty intercoolers.
For the chassis, Mercedes and McLaren chose to adopt a carbon fiber monocoque, thus providing the car with incredible strength and stiffness, not disjointed, however, by impressive lightness.
To optimize weight distribution, the engine was positioned far behind the front bumper and mated to a five-speed sequential automatic transmission. The carbon-ceramic brakes, thanks to the innovative Brake-by-Wire system, ensured a quick stop of the car, despite the unladen weight of 1769 kg.
Finally, the Gullwing-style doors added a touch of not indifferent magic to the allure of the car, therefore not a simple stylistic nod to the iconic 300SL of the 50s and 60s, but a design concept that was based on solid values of the past of the brand.

Our Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
Today this 2004 model looks like new, finished in an attractive Crystal Laurite Silver and Silver Arrow Red leather interior.
The perfectly running engine of the SLR runs smoothly, as do the gearbox and transmission.
The bodywork is in like new condition, as are the interiors, where numerous carbon components stand out, perfectly shiny and without scratches.
Ordinary and extraordinary maintenance work has recently been carried out on the car for a total amount of approximately € 30,000.
This splendid SLR is certainly destined to increase in value over the years, proving to all intents and purposes a true instant classic.
Despite its well-worn sixteen years of life, our SLR is in dazzling conditions, ready to please even the most pretentious of collectors.
Today it is possible to view the car online, by booking a call with one of our commercial operators, via Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp and Google Meet platforms.
