Description

"This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY
It could be argued, globally, that the Healey 3000 represents one of the most graceful and yet powerful classic English sportscars ever produced. It started with the 100/4, subsequently enlarged to 2.6 litres in the 100/6 and finally the, powerful incarnation, the three litre 3000. All three incarnations looked superb and drove equally well hence their regular use within motorsport. Twin SU carburettors and front disc brakes combined to good effect, the car was well balanced and powerful. The BJ7 was really an advanced Healey 3000 with a more considered windscreen design, wind up windows and a quick action folding roof.
The Heritage Certificate for this lovely Healey 3000 shows that the car was well optioned from new. Wire wheels, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen, heater and overdrive gearbox to name just a few. Completed in May 1963, this Colorado Red car was exported to a Mr. W. F. Hartmann in the USA. It resided there until the late 1990’s when it was imported back to the UK and was purchased by the vendor in 2001. He has loved and used the car sparingly since and is only selling now due to lack of use. The car has been well maintained and whilst not a concours car, is mechanically strong with a retrimmed interior and new seats, (the seats alone costing around £1,000). The vendor believes he has spent in the region of £7,000 solely on parts for the car over the years, which is very believable looking at the car’s history file. This Healey has reportedly benefitted from certain upgrades as well, such as the fitting of an aluminium fuel tank, sump and a stainless steel exhaust. Indeed, the car runs and drives beautifully with the glorious soundtrack supplied by the big 3000cc, BMC-C series, six-cylinder engine.
This Big Healey’s file includes its V5C registration document, Heritage Certificate, invoices and old MoT test certificates. Offering excellent value for money, this car is ready to be enjoyed.
The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
