Description

The 300 SL is cetainly one of the most iconic cars, produced from 1954 to 1957 and has been sought out by collectors ever since. A total of 1400 Gullwings were produced during this period and had many technical innovations which were derived from its racing heritage. Built from a lightweight tubular spaceframe structure which required a special design of doors and gave the vehicle its nickname "Gullwing" or "Papillon". The in line 6 cylinder engine also was innovative with mechanical fuel injection and a dry sump lubrication.

This example was produced in the first year of production of the 300 SL in 1954 and was delivered new to USA through Mercedes of New York. In Stunning condition it will be the crown jewel of any collection.
