Description

Few would have guessed that this little car would triumph in motorsport so significantly. Also known as ‘Big Healey’ this small British sports car now rates as one of the most successful rally cars of the 1960s. ‘A classic competition car among the all-time greats in motoring history,’ that was how The Autocar magazine summed up the works Austin-Healey 3000 in 1963.
As a successor of 100/6, 3000 MKI make its debut in 1959. The car featured ladder-type chassis and independent front and live rear axle suspension. Its slightly enlarged (to 2.912cc) version of the C-Series six-cylinder engine and Girling disc brakes gives performance of 183 km/h top speed and a 0-100 time in approximately 11 seconds. The engine is breathing through twin SU carburetors and producing 124bhp at 4.600 rpm.
Our car
This BT7 Mark I was imported to EU from USA and painstakingly restored regardless the costs by current owner. It is finished in light blue metallic over cream and trimmed with blue leather interior. Since the restoration was done, the car wasn’t driven too much so today it is still in concours condition, fully functional and does not require any investment.
