A thrilling winter driving experience for the IWC Racing Team

Before the 2020 historic motorsport season gets underway, the IWC Racing Team headed to snowy St. Moritz for a winter training camp with its magnificent Mercedes-Benz 300SL ‘Gullwing’…

Ice cool

Even the most seasoned motorsport crews need to refocus ahead of a new season. For the IWC Racing Team, a heart-racing drive across the frozen lake of St. Moritz with its 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL ‘Gullwing’ was just the chance to do so.

The IWC Racing Team was born in 2018 to strengthen the luxury Swiss watchmaker’s ties to the world of motorsport, the most prominent of which is its official partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. In the previous two seasons, legendary drivers such as David Coulthard and Karl Wendlinger have taken the wheel of the mighty ‘Gullwing’ and competed at such prestigious events as the Goodwood Members’ Meeting in England and the Arosa ClassicCar in Switzerland - and having mastered the slippery, twisting roads 1,800 metres above sea level around St. Moritz, the stage is set for an epic 2020.
