Description

THE JAGUAR XK150

By the late ’50s Jaguar was at its height, having conquered Le Mans in 1951, 1953, 1955, 1956, and 1957. With European rivals like Porsche beginning to catch up, in 1959 the XK150S was launched as a roadster aimed squarely at the American market. At its heart was a race-bred engine featuring a straight-port cylinder head. This was matched to a competition clutch and lightened flywheel. The result was a car with a top speed of 218 km/h. Disc brakes were also fitted.

THIS MOTORCAR

The Jaguar XK150 FHC we are offering here is chassis S824438DN. The car bears engine number V4087-8 and was originally delivered in the UK via PJ Evans of Birmingham as a RHD model, on June 1958. The original colour was Mist Grey with red leather to the interior and its transmission was manual with overdrive. First owner was company CLW Rees & Co. Ultimately the car was restored completely by marque specialists Auto Storica in Barcelona in 2015. The complete bodywork was taken to bare metal, all chromes and the full interior were also renewed. The 3.4 engine was also entirely rebuilt and has covered 3,000 km since.
Two fully SU-H8 carburetors were installed. The car is equipped with a 5 speed Getrag gearbox and also benefits of an electronic ignition. During the restoration the car was also equipped with two bucket type seats, and the original interior trim is also supplied with the car. Offered with Jaguar Heritage certificate, its restoration dossier, FIFA identity card, this very good looking example is today offered in dark green with fitting beige hide to the interior and registered in French.
Recently entered at the Tour Auto, which it successfully finished, this XK150 is an ideal, stylish and reliable entrant for historic events.

French registered.
