Description

Chassis # DB4/1182/L
Engine # 370/1212

The final variant of the DB4 Saloon, now known as the ‘Series V’, went into production from September 1962. Compared with its predecessor, the Series V was 9cm longer with a higher roof line to aid rear occupant comfort. Other details included larger front indicator lamps and a new rear light cluster featuring separate stop, reverse and indicator lamps.

Of the entire production run of 1,210 DB4s built at Newport Pagnell, just 50 examples were of ‘Series V’ specification.

Chassis 1182/L was delivered to its first owner in California, United States in June of 1963. Given that production of the DB4 ceased in 1963, this example represents one of the later cars built. The original build sheet for the car shows a specification of Aegean Blue over a White Gold interior trim – colours that the motor car wears to this day. Non-standard features specified on build were electric windows, a heated rear windscreen and two seatbelts.
