The interior of this custom Porsche 964 is almost too good to sit in

The New York City-based streetwear and lifestyle brand Aimé Leon Dore has teamed up with Porsche to exquisitely restore a 964 Carrera 4 from 1990 in its own inimitable style…

The ALD 964

‘Simplicity, ambition, tradition and beauty’ – they’re the words Aimé Leon Dore’s founder Teddy Santis uses to describe the values his label shares with Porsche. Finished in the same off-white as the façade of Aimé Leon Dore’s flagship store on Mulberry Street, the 964 Carrera 4 that Santis has just restored in partnership with Porsche incorporates fabrics and patterns that reference the Queens-based brand’s autumn-winter 2020 collection. Beautifully trimmed in tan-coloured Schott sunflower leather and contrasting Loro Piana houndstooth wool, what was originally a simple, functional cabin has been transformed into a sumptuous cocoon of preppy luxury. It almost looks too good to sit in. Almost. The unique ‘ALD 964’, as it’s been christened, will be on view at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery on Wooster Street in New York from 6–9 February.
