What a delight to welcome this top-of-the-range sports car icon from the 60-ies into our classic car garage!

This grey DB5 was my childhoods dreamcar when I was the proud owner of the James Bond Corgi Toy model, which unfortunatly disappeared somewhere during my youth, in my parents garden…

For a number of reasons this Aston Martin DB5 sports car stands on top of the wish-list of many classic car collectors.

- First of all: it is an exclusive Aston Martin sports car.

- Second: the best looking and technically best balanced DB5 Coupé model. State of the art Superleggera alloy coachwork over a tubelar frame designed by Carrozzeria Touring from Milan. The talented engineer Tadek Marek developped a fantastic 6-in-line 4.0 liter engine with twin overhead cams fed by 3 SU carbs and producing a healthy 282 HP.

- Third: Rare! Only 1.021 examples were produced of which a mere 220 in LHD. - The models’ illustrious James Bond movies-fame just added loads of charisma.

Chassis number DB5/2271/L was manufactured in the last production year 1965 and was delivered in March 1965 in Platinum Grey with black leather interior to Garage Mirabeau in Versailles near Paris.

It surely must be possible to find out more about the car’s life in France but from the info in the documentation file and what I could find out through my Aston Martin contacts, this DB5 ended-up after a while, as so many European exotic sportscars, as being exported to the USA.

Approx. 20 years ago a Dutch customer of mine, who is a great Aston Martin enthusiast, bought this Aston Martin DB5 in the USA and transported her back to Europe.

With the help of renowned classic car specialists, he patiently restored this DB5 from A to Z and at the same time swapped the original automatic gearbox for the much more appreciated and correct ZF 5-speed box.

The result today is a very attractive DB5 Coupé in the attractive colour combination of Silver Birch Grey metallic with medium blue leather interior.

Being part of a rather big classic car collection, this Aston Martin DB5 Coupé has led the past few years a very sheltered life and was sparingly used. But just enough to ensure this sports car remained in an alround tip-top condition.

I very much would like to keep this beauty in my own garage and I am quite sure dozens of other classic car enthusiasts would like to materialise this plan too. Well, here is your chance!
