Description

The Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 was the ultimate saloon built by Mercedes Benz from 1968 to 1972. It featured the company's powerful 6.3-litre M100 V8 from the luxurious 600 limousine installed in the normally six-cylinder powered Mercedes Benz 300 SEL. The result was a nearly 2-tonne saloon with performance similar to most dedicated sports cars and American muscle cars of the era. At the time of its release it was the world's fastest four door car.

This example was delivered new in Germany, and apart from a quality repaint in its original colour Beigegrau Metallic (728) still in fantastic original condition. The gorgeous interior finished in Dunkelgrün leather is still as it left the factory in 1969, and the shiny woodwork is of such a high quality level that it is hard to believe it was manufactured almost 50 years ago. The strong and massive V8 engine offers so much power it's even fast following todays standards. The smooth automatic gearbox shift effortlessly and the air suspension is in new condition as well. I dare to say it must be one of the best examples in existance today. The perfect colour combination and german specification makes it even more desireable for the proper collector.
