The Alfa arrived in the Netherlands in February 1991 and had only three owners since. The latter has owned the car for 4 years and it was part of a large Alfa Romeo collection. So the Giulia comes from a very good family, where no visitor had the gutts to say something negative about the iconic Milanese brand. The owner’s passion results in perfect cars, and entering his atmospheric accommodation it seemed “indietro nel tempo”, or, “step back in time”. A library, photos, posters. You can’t imagine whether it was present in the Italian “mancave”. While enjoying a delicious espresso, the documents, invoices and specifications of the Giulia were reviewed and this also showed that owning a car like this goes much further than just “owning”. It has become more of a lifestyle and a “life with..”. But after a day of thinking, consultation within the family and a restless night it was decided to look for a new enthusiast, and the Giulia could go to Rijssen.

And we are very happy with it. A beautiful, solid and tight body that shows perfect fittings and is well painted. The upgrade to a 2.0 liter engine prepared by Arese from Badhoevedorp makes a huge difference comparing with the original 1300 cc engine. This engine has a great torque and is a true pleasure to drive it on both the winding routes and on the highway. Of course, the improved chassis is also one of the reasons for this. The right springs, shock absorbers and torsion bar ensure a wonderful contact between the tires mounted on the ultimate and classic GTA rims and the flat tarmact or bumpy gravel road. This chassis can handle every kind of surface, and always gives the feeling that you have the car in your hand and you can enjoy the real driving.

Naturally, all equipment such as trip masters, compasses and map lamps is also present to drive the most beautiful tours or rallies. Which, incidentally, does not have to make an attack directly on your back because the seats are of the sport / comfort type as we call them. Providing support when necessary, but also offers comfort on long journeys to sit comfortably for hours. The 4-point seat belts ensure your safety while driving an event, but also the originall seat belts are present.

Do you also want sufficient luggage space? No issue: the trunk offers enough space and the still-mounted rear seat can also accommodate things. Incidentally, the back seat in a very good condition, as well as the original seats that are also included.

The Giulia is not only suitable for competitions, but also for using it as a wonderful classic car. And don’t you need the equipment and is the roll cage a bit too much?
