Description

"Officially introduced at the Paris Salon in October 1975, the 308 GTB’s styling was created by Pininfarina. The stunning two-seat coachwork was all new but incorporated all of the old magic by blending aspects of the Dino 206/246 with the later 365 GT4/BB. Reminiscent of the Boxer was the dihedral groove at bumper level splitting top and bottom, the plunging nose and the sail panels reaching back to meet a shallower spoiler, while the conical side air intakes and recessed concave rear window were familiar from the Dino. Simply sublime in its appearance.
The 308 GTB employed a tubular steel chassis with independent coil spring/wishbone suspension front and rear, complimented by anti-roll bars, adjustable dampers and powerful disc brakes. At its heart was a Formula One derived, all alloy, quad camshaft 3.0 litre V8 engine, allied to a transversely mounted five-speed gearbox.
Supplied new to France, this Ferrari lived in Monaco for many years, before its importation to the UK in 2008. This lovely, lefthand drive, totally original and unrestored Dry Sump Carburettor example is finished in the traditional Rosso Red with black leather interior. It comes with its standard wheels and chin spoiler (most are modified) all handbooks and correct Ferrari branded wallet (owner’s manual, warranty card book with early service stamps plus sales and service manual) and full original jacking and toolkits in their bags, which are extremely rare and worth a great deal of money today.  The mileage of 39,000Kms is believed to be genuine and along with the UK V5 document there are also some old Monegasque copies of title and other papers bearing the owners name. In October this year, £6,000 was  spent in servicing which included cambelts and replacement suspension bushes, brake caliper rebuild, new steering gaiters, new engine mounts, ignition overhaul, new fuel hoses and carburettor tune-up. Its cooling system was overhauled including new header tank and cooling hose replacement and in February this year, the car was shod with four new Pirelli tyres.  These models are still great to drive and will give any modern a run for their money."
