Description

"In 1965, Fiat introduced an up-rated version of the Nuova 500 referred to as the 500F, (or Berlina), which carried on in production until 1973. The 500F’s altered bodywork featured front-hinged doors and a shortened sunroof, while mechanical improvements included a strengthened transmission. Power output increased to 22bhp at 4,400rpm and the top speed to within a whisker of 60mph. Production of Dante Giacosa’s immortal design ceased in 1975, by which time almost four million Fiat 500s of all types had been produced.
Sold new to Sicily in 1971, this lovely little example of a Fiat 500 F spent all its life there until being imported to the UK in 2016 after the vendor, whilst on holiday, complimented the then owner and restorer of the car on its lovely condition. Little did he realise at that moment he would soon be buying the car and bringing it home with him! The car was restored with an Abarth theme; an Abarth specification engine was fitted with a Weber carburettor, special exhaust and uprated interior and styling modifications. The car starts on the button and has barely covered any miles since its arrival in the UK. So limited has been its use here that the vendor never got around to registering the car, but has all the information needed to do so, allowing the new owner to be the first UK registered keeper. The car comes supplied with all the documentation required for registration, MoT test certificate valid until May 2020 and its history file. Motoring doesn’t get much more fun than this!"
