Description

A UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 911 3.2 Carrera Targa first registered on 1st August 1989Finished in Baltic Blue over Linen Leather with desirable 5-speed G50 gearboxComprehensive service history and supplied with service book and toolsSupplied with a UK V5c and an MOT until 28th April 2020There are very few cars that can boast a history anything like that of the Porsche 911. This was the gem of a sports car that simply blew everything away back in 1964. Since then, the 911 has evolved over the years to become one of the world's true motoring legends. Without doubt, part of the appeal of this iconic model is that its soul has always remained true to the original design. Porsche started to manufacture the 'Targa' top 911 from the mid-sixties and kept it in production in various forms right up to the current Porsche 997 Targa. During the 911 Carrera 3.2 production era, all the non-Turbo variants - Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet - were designated '911 Carrera' and offered in standard and sports options. Cars from this era are powered by the familiar air (and oil) cooled, horizontally opposed, flat six-cylinder, 'boxer', 3,164cc engine producing 231 bhp and 284 N.m of torque, and fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Ignition and injection are managed by the Bosch Motronic system providing efficient andeconomical performance. This particular 3.2-litre Carrera Targa was registered to its first owner in the UK on 1st August 1989. Finished in Baltic Blue with a LinenLeather interior, the car sports body-coloured Fuchs wheels and has the desirable G50 five-speed gearbox. The original rear spoiler was removed as the owner preferred the way the car looked without it, but it is included with the sale. The accompanying history file contains the service book which records 22 services since 1989, predominantly by Official Porsche Centres or marque specialists, and in 1999 the engine had a top-end overhaul at AFN at which point it had covered 90,495 miles. The most recent service was carried out at marque specialist JZM in April of this year. Now having covered a total of 102,762 miles, thecar is supplied with a UK V5c and is MOT tested until late April 2020. Targa-topped cars from the late eighties are probably the most affordable way into Classic Porsche ownership and this lovely Baltic Blue Carrera would be a great start.
