You’ll only hear the waves of Lake Como with this electric Fiat 500

Lapo Elkann’s Garage Italia Customs has worked its magic on a raft of ultra-expensive super and hypercars. Now the Italian creative design agency is refocusing its efforts into what it’s billed the E-Icon project, which electrifies automotive icons for worry-free use in the modern world…

Shhhh, it’s a secret

Outwardly, this dinky little Fiat 500 Jolly raises no questions whatsoever. However, the summer shuttle is powered by an electric drivetrain, rendering it future-proof in this world of ever-more stringent emissions regulations. It’s the first result of Garage Italia’s E-Icon project, which, through electrical redevelopment, lends era-defining classic cars a new lease of life, usability, reliability, and relevance in today’s eco-conscious and fast-paced world. What’s more, there’s a new safety cell beneath the hand-crafted body panels, ensuring the beach-bound occupants are as safe as they are happy. We particularly love the small and subtle details such as the five-inch screen in the rev counter, the metal Fiat badge on the front that swings open to reveal the charging port, and the gear lever with two symbols on the top: a tortoise and a hare. Stay tuned for more electrified icons from Garage Italia – we can’t wait to see what’s next!
