This matching numbers example is nothing less than stunning, presenting in Nassua blue with black interior. This all-American muscle car stands out above the crowd with its side exhaust and rare corvette aluminium wheels on red wall tyres.

The 1966 Corvette Sting Ray hit the American sports car market like a thunderclap and for the first time in history the Corvette was a sell-out success. Indeed, such was its popularity that the St Louis factory hired a second shift, but still couldn't build cars fast enough to meet demand. There were only 9,958 built in a short period.

This Corvette convertible was fitted with a 427 cu-in 390-horsepower big-block and available only with the close-ratio Muncie 4-speed transmission, it delivered 0-60 mph times of 4.8 to 5.7 seconds. With optional side-mount exhausts, 3.70:1 Posi traction rear axle, F41 heavy-duty suspension and the rare cast-aluminium knockoff wheels. The aggressive hood bulge was included with the 1966 Corvette Sting Ray 427 option.

This vehicle, built in the St Louis plant is complete with its vehicle import approval documentation from 2008, original Corvette sales brochure from 1966, and a healthy array off documentation along with a past winning award.

This Corvette is a highly desirable and collectable part of American motoring history and a must have vehicle for the serious collector.
