This wonderful Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1300 Spider 750D was produced as well as being delivered to Hoffman Motor Cars Co. in America in 1956. This car is one of the early series 1, also known as the 750D (1955-1959). The shorter wheelbase, the nice small rear lights, the dashboard and the sloping screen without quarter-lights distinguish the early cars. Late in 1992 Mr Vleugels proprietor of Vleugels Alfa Romeo dealership in Maastricht, the Netherlands bought and imported the Alfa. He commissioned a complete mechanical overhaul and restoration. This process has been carefully documented with photos, invoices and correspondence. The sublime bodywork has pleasing straight and perfectly fitted body panels. The chrome details and the underbody are similarly in great condition. The colour-coded pristine underbody is sound and rust free. Following the restoration, the car has always been judiciously used and maintained. Mr Vleugels kept the car until 2016. It has a ‘Ferrari Rosso Corsa’ finish combined with a black vinyl interior trim and black hood. The car has retained its original, matching numbers, 1300 engine.
