Description
This lovely car is a 2001 model registered to its first owner in Bologna, Italy 0n 27th February 2002. The only records of this ownership come in the form of the new car warranty document and the service stamps which note a service on 5th November 2002 at an odometer reading of 7,500. The car then finds its second and current owner through the services of British Motors in Monaco – in fact the owner divides his time between Monaco and Madrid and the car remains under its Monégasque registration.
The owner has been described by his family as an avid sports car enthusiast, having always owned a sports car or two at any given time since his 20’s. The cars were mostly used locally for commuting and never for road trips. He has owned numerous Ferraris, Corvettes, Lamborghinis, Mercedes SL's in addition to three Astons. asked which car was his favourite and without hesitation he says the Aston. He also enjoyed the process of buying them priding himself in his deal making prowess, and was able to trade up over the years to better and better cars.
During the 1980’s the owner was President of Philip Morris Spain, who were major sponsor of Grand Prix cars and drivers with the Marlboro brand. He attended, even hosted, many of the pre-race dinners with the drivers and rubbed elbows with all of them. James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Niki Lauda to name a few and his children remember attending races with him in Watkins Glen, Monaco and Jarama.
So service records from both Monaco and Spain are understandable and complete the picture of a low mileage example of one of Aston Martin’s acknowledged modern classics that has been owned by a discerning and enthusiastic driver.
