Only a Pagani Huayra Roadster is worthy of Piloti’s latest driving shoe

Last year, we visited the bohemian petrolhead Hing Yeung in Los Angeles. Back then, he was Piloti’s lead designer and gave us a sneak preview of a driving shoe he was working on with Pagani. Now, Piloti has finally revealed the Roadster Driving Boot, and it’s every bit as special as we remember…

Form intertwined with function

Directly inspired by the sensational Huayra Roadster, the limited-edition shoes are handcrafted from Italian leather, carbon-fibre, and laser-etched aluminium. Naturally, they also utilise Piloti’s signature ‘Roll Control’ technology, though this would admittedly be of more use behind the wheel of the three-pedalled Zonda Aether we also encountered last year. Piloti and Pagani feels like a match made in hypercar heaven and the elegant high-topped Roadster Driving Boot is definitely a shoe worthy of the car it was inspired by. Like the Huayra, the devil’s very much in the details – the embossed Pagani tailpipes on the heels and the flawlessly weaved carbon-fibre panels, incorporated to save weight and increase strength. Just 250 pairs will be handmade in Italy and delivered to their lucky new owners in a special presentation box equipped with gullwing doors just like those found on the Pagani Huayra coupé.
