Now Lancia’s on its way, is it time to make Alfa Romeo great again?

If you’re of the belief that reinterpreting Franco Scaglione’s magnum opus, the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale, is a bit like sticking an Instagram filter on the Mona Lisa, you might want to look away. This is the 4C-based Nivola concept by Ugur Sahin Design…

Wishful thinking?

Yes, the Nivola – christened after the great Tazio Nuvolari (Nivola was his nickname) – is just a render for the time being, but it does go to show what a modern take on the Tipo 33 Stradale, undoubtedly the sexiest car in the world, might look like. The fact Ugur Sahin Design rendered the concept around the 4C’s chassis suggests small-scale production would be viable should demand be strong enough. Regardless, as contemporary tributes go, this is certainly a good one – we particularly love the rear three quarters, which incorporate those signature vents and acute Kamm tail.
